WHERE ARE THEY CULTIVATED?
Dutch Imperial Oysters (Ostrea Edulis) are cultivated and harvested in Lake Grevelingen. This lake is the largest salt water lake in Europe. With special protection from the Dutch government this lake is one of the cleanest, most eutrophic cultivation areas in Europe.
HOW DO YOU RECOGNISE THEM?
Dutch Imperial Oysters can be recognised by their flat, rounded shell. By nature, Dutch Imperial Oysters have a very refined taste which makes it a shame to grill them. They are almost always eaten raw.
